Christ Church, Lochgilphead

Our traditional parish lunch may not be possible this year: - keep an eye on this page for updates.

The Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ

This feast (properly celebrated on the 2nd February) is the culmination of the Christmas season, falling 40 days after Christmas Day.

Traditionally, candles are blessed at the Eucharist, and taken home for domestic prayers and blessings.

This feast, along with the feast of St Brigid on the 1st February, coincides with thge ancient Celtic feast of Imbolc, and marks the return of the light to our northern lands.

We have usually held a parish lunch at Christ Church, but it is unlikely to be possible to do so this year.
