The Prayer for Healing is a pivotal part of the life of the Church, as it was in the earthly Ministry of Our Saviour Jesus Christ.

In Intercession, our hearts and souls are opened to the needs of all people and all creation for the healing which flows from the Heart of Jesus.

Jesus' parting gift at his last Supper to his disciples was the bequest of his own Peace. This was his first prayer for them at his Resurrection, when he bestowed on them the Gift of his New Life, breathing onto them His Holy Spirit.

It is through the Holy Spirit that the Church offers the healing life of Christ to all peoples.

Through the Laying-On of Hands, and through the Sacrament of Holy Anointing, Christ stands beside us, strengthens us, and enfolds us in his Love.

The context for this prayer finds its natural and true place in the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist when Christ constitutes his Church from his gathered Flock.
